When fishing a small fly in the summer low water what density of line – full floating ?- length of leader / weight of tippet – – – do you use a poly leader ?

In Scotland all the Ghillies swear by floating lines and long light leaders – but you seem to fish heavier deeper and shorter even in summer with small flies ?

hi rennie, aTriple-D in F/HI and down to F/I/s2 is working well. the leader can be from 9 to 12 feet. The Guideline Triple-D shooting heads have a nice balansed front taper so you do not need to use a poly leader.
